The 2019 Championships, Wimbledon
... starts Monday ! ... as usual, a look through some seeding numbers. ...men's ;

5,6,7 - Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas. - grouped together here as the new guard of tennis, but who will be the breakout champion ?
11 - Medvedev . the Russian returns to form on grass, and made the Queens semi final last week
17 - Berrettini . fast improving young Italian has been highly rated by Federer himself.
19 - Auger - Alliassime. . Felix A-A has massive potential at just 18. was highlighted on here by Far Cough earlier in the year

...women ;

3 - Pliskova . excellent player, can win the whole thing
5 - Kerber - back to her best by thrashing Halep this week
19 - Konta . reaching last fours now, just needs a bit more mental strength
31 Sakkari . im a fan of this tough little player

My prediction is that NS will call tennis gay on the first page of this thread.

I recognise less and less of the players names.

Re: The 2019 Championships, Wimbledon
The usual suspects will be there
Seeded 1 Djokovic, 2 Federer , 3 Nadal

Understand Wimbledon are the only Grand slam that tweak the rankings to put more weight on grass court results.
Federer gets lifted above Nadal who would now have to play Djokovic in the semi final.
Unlike the French where ,because he has been out injured ,Nadal was seeded TWO. Which is ridiculous seeing he will end up having a court named after him at Roland Garros.

According to the Graun that ain't so.

"Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal could meet in the semi-finals of Wimbledon after both were drawn in the same half."

Of course I stand to be corrected.

Re: The 2019 Championships, Wimbledon
Yes that’s right
With the draw Djokovic has Kevin Anderson (4th seed) on his side. Should be comfortable for him.
Nadal and Federer have Thiem & Cilic

I think that the personality vacuum with the collosal booming serve has a great chance of winning this time around...

I'm doing that double. 16/1 not bad value. Pliskova played well on that grass final yesterday despite it not being a surface she particularly likes.

I might myself, nadal has a bad draw and could be lined b with a tough match every round
